ACCOMMODATION IN CREMONA
FOR MUSICOLOGY AND CULTURAL HERITAGE STUDENTS ONLY – ACADEMIC YEAR 2023/2024

International exchange students of Musicology and Cultural Heritage can find accommodation in Cremona in the University Hall of Residence “Collegio Quartier Novo”.

In order to apply students have to fill in the application form below:

EU STUDENTS

All European Erasmus students should travel to Italy with their European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).
The European Health Insurance Card replaces paper forms such as the E111 and gives access to immediate necessary care under the same conditions as for Italian nationals.

The benefits covered include, for example, benefits provided in conjunction with chronic or existing illnesses as well as in conjunction with pregnancy and childbirth.

Cards are issued by your national health insurance provider.

Important – the European Health Insurance Card:

  • is not an alternative to travel insurance. It does not cover any private healthcare or costs such as a return flight to your home country or lost/stolen property,
  • does not guarantee free services. As each country’s healthcare system is different services that cost nothing at home might not be free in another country.

Students can address one of the available practitioners (so-called Medico di Base) at her/his choice (maybe privileging the one who is nearer to her/his domicile) indicated in the website of the local Azienda Sanitaria -ASL (Health district of the province of Pavia).

No fee should be applied by the practitioner while, in case of subsequent appointed specialistic visits/blood test etc…  a fee could be applied (to the same conditions as for Italian nationals).

More information on How you can use your EHIC card can be found on the website of the European Health Insurance card , which we recommend you read carefully before leaving your residence Country.

NON-EU STUDENTS

Students coming from non-EU countries are strongly recommended to get hold of an insurance policy certified, translated by the Italian Diplomatic Representative abroad, since in order to get the Residence Permit they are required to have an Health Insurance for the entire duration of their stay in Italy.
Alternatively, once in Pavia, non-EU students who do not have such a private insurance policy, can enroll with the National Health Service (SSN) by paying a yearly fee (please note that it is valid until December 31st of the year in which it is subscribed) of around euro 150,00.
This has to be paid at the Post Office, by a bollettino postale on the account c/c n° 379222.
Afterwards, you need to go to the Health Local Unit (ASL, Via Indipendenza, 3, Pavia Google map) with the payment receipt. There you will choose a Practitioner.

HOW TO ASK FOR YOUR VISA

  1. Identify the competent Italian authority in your country
Visit this webpage https://vistoperitalia.esteri.it/home.aspx to find out whether you need to apply for a study visa (type d), which is the competent Italian embassy or consulate in your country of residence, and what documentation you need.
  1. Submit the pre-enrollment and visa application

As soon as we will receive your pre-enrollment request and request for a visa, we will check it, and – if everything is fine – we will submit it to the competent Italian authority.
  1. Complete the pre-enrollment procedure at the competent Italian authority
You must then complete the pre-enrollment procedure by contacting the competent diplomatic-consular mission, keeping in mind that the procedure is not complete with the sending of the pre-enrollment application (point 2) only.
