The University of Pavia promotes several initiatives of virtual mobility as a new way of preparing, integrating or completing a period of physical mobility and as a tool for facing the obstacles to physical mobility imposed during the last months due to the Covid-19 emergency.

Soliya Compact programme

The University of Pavia offers the possibility to participate in the Soliya Compact Programme of virtual mobility. Small groups of students of different cultures and nationalities get involved in a series of virtual meetings on topics like culture, religion, conflict between civilizations, in order to promote dialogue across cultural and religious differences. The program is handled by Soliya, a digital education platform offering the possibility of virtual mobility. It takes place two times per year (in spring and in autumn).

Recognition of blended and virtual mobility

Students selected for a period of mobility for the 2020/21 academic year can start the mobility in “virtual” mode,  and then complete it with a period of activity in presence abroad (physical mobility) as soon as the sanitary conditions will allow it.

In case the ongoing restrictions required due to the epidemiologic emergency do not allow participants to complete the mobility with a period of activity in presence abroad, a full period of virtual mobility can be considered.
Students will also have the chance to follow the online courses offered by the University of Pavia. This way, they will have the possibility to study and take exams both at the hosting University and at their home University. Full recognition will be granted also for the results obtained in all the activities undertaken both during the virtual mobility period and the physical one.
