How to get to Pavia from Milan airports

There are 3 airports in Milan:

  • Malpensa (90 km from Pavia)
  • Linate (50 km from Pavia)
  • Orio al Serio (70km from Pavia).

From Malpensa airport:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          there is a train that connects Malpensa Airport to Pavia train station. Since a change is mandatory, we advice you do have it in Milano Bovisa train station.  All the information on the train service can be found here: https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html

From Linate airport:
Take the underground M4 Blue line to Milano Dateo Train station in 8 minutes.
From here you can easily take a direct train to Pavia.

All the information on the train service can be found here: https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html All the information on the underground service can be found here: https://www.atm.it/en/Pages/default.aspx

Pavia is a rather small city with short walking distances. We recommend a few hotels close by the university and the venue, but there are many more good choices. We advise you to check booking.com and similar booking sights (Airbnb) and consider booking a hotel near the main University building – Address: Corso Strada Nuova 65, Pavia.

Some hotels which are less than 10 minutes away from the staff week location:

There is no fee for participating in the UniPV International Staff Week. Participants are however responsible for covering their own accommodation, travel to/from Pavia and most meals during the week. Some meals are however complementary from UNIPV.

Please note that the Staff Week is eligible as Erasmus+ STT funding, so feel free to ask information to your International Relations Office.

In the month of June the weather in Pavia is usually very warm.

Expect temperature around 30 degrees in day time and around 20 during the night.

Do not forget to buy a mosquito repellent! It is crucial to enjoy nights out.
