How to be welcomed as a visiting scientist at the University of Pavia

The University of Pavia is delighted to welcome international scholars who intend to stay for a period of scientific research at our Departments.

In order to process your application please:
– Identify the department or staff member you would like to have an exchange with. Email the relevant teacher, including a CV, to show your area of expertise and how an exchange would benefit both universities. You can find staff contact details through the pages below:

–  List of Academic Departments at the University of Pavia https://portale.unipv.it/it/ricerca/strutture-di-ricerca/dipartimenti
– Course catalogue https://unipv.coursecatalogue.cineca.it/

– After your application has been accepted you can fill in this form.
– Check if you need a visa for scientific research to enter Italy visiting the website Il visto per l’Italia
If you are citizens of non-EU countries (or of those countries that are not subject to entry visas for short periods) you can come on a tourist visa for a maximum of 90 days over a period of 180 days calculated on the periods of stay in all Schengen countries.
If citizens of non-EU countries intend to stay at the University of Pavia for a period exceeding 90 days, they need a visa for scientific research to be requested at the Italian Embassy / Consulate in their country of residence.
The University of Pavia will get them the Police authorization (in Italian nulla osta) for the visa application and the procedure should be started by the Center for Global Strategic Engagement.
