Update of 08/01/2021

Due to the fact that the spread of Covid-19 is still worrying in many countriess, despite the restrictions adopted by the governments in all European and non-European countries and the activation of the vaccination campaign, the University of Pavia discourages students from leaving for an international mobility period as indicated by the Rector (Decree of 23/12/2020).

Therefore, those who have already scheduled a departure before January 31, 2021 are called to contact the International Mobility Unit, and indicate the expected date of departure, in order to evaluate the different situations case by case in reference to the country of destination.

Additionally, given the persistence of the critical health situation in many countries, it is strongly recommended to contact the Embassy or Consulate of the country of interest before leaving and contact the Host University / Institution to confirm the type of teaching offered. If a virtual teaching is offered, the student is encouraged to carry it out if possible, without travelling to the host country.

Finally, the following obligations are always to be respected by mobile outgoing students:

Health Insurance Card

Before leaving, students must check with the local ASST the validity in the host country of the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) and to get information about possible health risks in the hosting country, prophylaxis measures to take before leaving, necessary vaccinations and to get sanitary certificates, if needed.

BLENDED/VIRTUAL MOBILITY

Blended mobility

In order to face the current condition of uncertainty regarding the actual possibilities of departure and stay abroad, UNIPV allows the possibility to carry out “hybrid” forms of mobility (partly online, partly face-to-face). For example, if at the beginning of the semester the security conditions in the host country do not allow to leave, the student can start the semester of mobility by staying in Pavia, and attend online the lessons offered by the host University/institution, postponing the departure and the start of the mobility “face-to-face” when the conditions will allow it.

Virtual mobility

It is allowed to carry out a period in VIRTUAL modality if, by effect of the restrictions, it will not be possible to follow face-to-face activities (physical mobility). Full recognition will be guaranteed for all activities carried out both in virtual and in physical modality. At the same time students have the opportunity to follow the lessons delivered online by the University of Pavia, thus having the opportunity to study and take the exams/activities both at the host university/institution and at the home university.

VIRTUAL mobility foresees an economic contribution corresponding to the 60% of the top-up (integration) to the Overseas/Coimbra scholarship (linked to ISEE). ISEE above 50.000 euro does not give right to any contribution.
