The project will delevop a module on “EU law & policies in managing migration”, addressed to Master students of political science, exchange students as well as- migrants offered access to higher education and civil servants. The subject is particularly relevant to the Italian Context, since Italy holds a strategic place in the current immigration crisis and as a gateway to the EU is testing the limits of the EU legal framework.
The teaching method focuses on Student Active Learning through the PBL approach, simulations, moot and roundtables with UNHCR, NGOs and other non academic actors. An innovative aspect of the project is represented by the promotion of student active learning, giving them ownership of the programme in designing PBLs, thematic roundtables and workshops with NGOs or International Organizations like UNHCR.
The module covers different categories of migrants: forced and voluntary migration, stateless people, IDPs, labour migrants, refugees and vulnerable groups such as children and victims of human trafficking.
