Due to the intensive transformation of urban landscapes, some areas in cities do not have a clearly defined purpose. There may be many such sites in cities, especially in the inner-city areas, and their location is random. Filling such sites with infill development is extremely difficult in terms of architectural design and relation with the existing contest. However, infill development allows existing city development to be densified, completes fragmented urban tissue, revitalizes urban fragments that have lost their significance, counteracts urban sprawl, contributes to the implementation of the concepts of the compact city and the 15-minute city, as well as enabling sustainable urban development and enhance biodiversity. Students from architectural studies of different countries will have the possibility to participate in lectures, study visits, and design activities on a specific area in the Polish city of Opole.
