SPART aims at fostering socially situated forms of architectural pedagogies paired with innovation in Higher Education Institutions and beyond. It is based on an integrated system of teaching, learning and training activities that engage educators and learner in deep engagement, outreach and dissemination.
The BIP aims at training the student-architect (a learner, one of many) through a collaborative, inclusive and horizontal knowledge exchange practice which connects both educators and learners (inside and beyond academia) with an assemblage of stakeholders, laypersons or initiators. The project stems from the need to create a medium for innovating pedagogy that stimulates and is shaped by dialogues between societal challenges, involving actors in the field and the architect (in making).
The intensive course (workshop) in Pavia aims:
- to explore new and innovative ways of understanding the urban context as a commons resource in which (future) architects are working in,
- to facilitate civic engagement and meet the demands of active citizens through commons architecture,
- to transform the architectural design learning for enabling commons architecture design,
- to map the needs of the architecture students through learning/teaching/training activities in a peer-to-peer environment,
- to exchange knowledge with and co-learn from all partners and other collaborators in regards to their imminent contexts and diverse sets of approaches,
- To establish a framework for further collaboration between universities, practitioners and NGO’s.
